This year Samsung came out with two different versions of its flagship smartphone the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
Samsung Galaxy S6 is a fantastic phone on its be we are going to take a look at the specifically at the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which you may have heard of. It comes with a curved display that wraps around the two edges of the device making the phone look and feel super thin . You might think that having such thin sides would make it difficult to hold but actually it's quite manageable and you will get use to it over time.
It took temperatures over 800 degrees degrees C in a process called thermae forming to produce the curved glass used on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and it looks fantastic making the phone quite striking from any angle and instantly recognizable .
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge : DisplayJust as on the standard S6 the screen is colourful, well saturated and pixel packed, producing a great picture. Due to the curved display it feels also immersive with images and video pulling you in. To take full advantage off The curved screen Samsung have built some custom applications such as the "People Edge" function which allows you to assign your most used contacts to aside dock which pops up when you swipe the edge of the device from the home screen. One thing we found more useful was the information stream and night clock functions which display all kinds of useful information such as missed calls, messages, Twitter feed etc down the right hand side of the screen when the phone is in sleep mode.
Double click the home key and you'll activate the same fantastic camera as on the standard Samsung Galaxy S6 with the same optically stabilized hardware. Colours are saturated but not too overdone with contrast and sharpness giving photos a little more punch plus HDR mode to catch the extra detail.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge : CameraThe wide f1.9 aperture lens allows you to focus and preserve detail in low light (always difficult to do on a smartphone). The front facing cameras wide lens help for a friend friendly shot since you can fit a surprisingly amount in one frame . Putting this all together the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge camera is one of the best if not the best you can find on a smartphone today.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge : BatteryDue to its large bright screen the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is power hungry and probably won't last you a full day if you take a lot of pictures or do anything which keeps the screen on for extended periods of time. We have to say that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have moderate to poor battery life however Samsung does include the quick charge function which enables you to get from around 0 to 90% in about 45 minutes. If you need a long lasting smartphone for the road or anywhere where you can get access to a charging point for more than a day then definitely take that into consideration when looking at the Samsung Galaxy S6 series of devices.
In all other aspects the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge performs fantastically well whether it be gaming, browsing the web or using the inbuilt S Health application to monitor your fitness progress.
In short Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is a fantastic device and catches the eye more than any other smartphone out there at the moment as well as having great build quality just like his brother the Samsung Galaxy S6.
