Remember the survey we did couple of month’s ago and we asked you what additional added-value services you would like to see delivered by mymo? Well, you said:
We’d like to give a warm mymo welcome to Sophie Marr of Sophie Marr Physiotherapy who is going to produce specific physiotherapy-led workouts specifically for runners and targeting those core muscles that we all need to keep on top of.
The workout videos will vary between each muscle or activity but they will be stored on your mymo customer dashboard so you can revisit them as many times as you like.
Sophie has been running (pardon the pun) her practice from Jesmond in Newcastle for the last 5.5 years. She’s an experienced club runner and a qualified Sports Therapist and Physiotherapist.
Her background is in sport and has played football at county level and has competed in triathlons. For four and half years, she was a physiotherapist at Sunderland Football Club.
Within her clinic, she provides physiotherapy assessments, treatments, management strategies and acute and chronic injuries, rehabilitation pre and post-surgery, biomechanical assessments, massage and soft tissue techniques, taping, acupuncture as well as exercise and rehab prescription.
Craig Downs, CEO of mymo said: “I’ve known Sophie for many years through running and she is a very experienced sports therapist and physiotherapist. Bringing Sophie on board to help mymo customers will strengthen our overall offer and I am delighted she has agreed to work in partnership with us to deliver strength and core video workouts.”
The videos will be available to mymo customers only and will be accessible via your dashboard.
Ken Harker will help mymo customers to achieve their personal goals and can develop training plans for any running distance from 5K up to full marathon.
Our sports therapist, Kev talks about Achilles tendinopathy and the treatment and exercises you can do to overcome this typical running injury.
